How a group of dedicated Mohawk families built something lasting for Mound Westonka soccer.
The MWHS Soccer Booster Club was born from a simple belief shared by Mohawk soccer families: that student athletes deserve more than the bare minimum. A group of dedicated parents came together, determined to fill the gaps that school budgets couldn't โ from better equipment to meaningful end-of-season celebrations.
What started as informal sideline conversations became a structured organization. The Booster Club was formally incorporated and earned its 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, giving families and local businesses a tax-advantaged way to invest directly in the program they loved.
Over the years, the Club has grown in both scale and impact โ expanding from equipment support into scholarships, event programming, and a robust volunteer network. Through coaching staff transitions, challenging seasons, and triumphant ones, the Booster Club has remained a constant source of support and community pride.
Today, MWHS Soccer Booster Inc. serves both the boys' and girls' soccer programs at Mound Westonka High School, ensuring that every Mohawk who steps on the field knows the community has their back.
Parent volunteers formalize their support network, creating the foundation for what will become the MWHS Soccer Booster Club.
The organization earns nonprofit status (EIN 99-3511680), allowing tax-deductible donations and opening the door to broader community sponsorship.
The Booster Club launches its senior scholarship program, honoring graduating athletes for their commitment to the program and academic achievement.
Annual spirit wear campaigns and organized fundraisers become cornerstone events, bringing in consistent support for equipment and travel needs.
The annual banquet becomes a beloved tradition โ recognizing players, coaches, and volunteers while celebrating the season as a full community.
The Club actively supports both the boys' and girls' varsity soccer programs, reflecting its commitment to equity and excellence across all Mohawk athletes.
